Because we don't want to mark them up. Cargo insurance is legally required under our MC (so we hold the policy), but we pass the actual premium straight through to you at cost β typically $400β450/week per truck. Same with ELD (~$50/week) and IFTA filing (~$40β50/week). Other carriers bake these into a higher percentage (18β25%) and quietly profit on them. We'd rather charge a low flat fee and show you the real cost of everything else.
Yes. Cargo insurance pricing is driven by carrier age, claims history, driver MVRs, and CSA score. As Khatlon and our drivers build a clean record, premiums drop β and since we pass through at cost, those savings go directly to you. We re-shop our cargo policy annually.
